Why Real-World AAM Testing Requires More Than Airspace
Most aerospace testing facilities were not designed to support long-duration BVLOS operations or high-altitude testing in real National Airspace.
As a result, teams are often limited by:
- Restricted or low-altitude airspace
- Chase plane requirements that add cost and complexity
- Facilities that separate build, integration, and flight operations
Purpose-Built Infrastructure for Advanced Air Mobility
NAAMCE features 30,000 sq. ft. of collaboration space and 25,000 sq. ft. of hangar space designed to support advanced air mobility development.
This integrated environment allows teams to build components, integrate systems, and prepare for flight operations within a single facility.
Tenants also have access to Ohio’s SkyVision Ground Based Detect and Avoid system, which eliminates the need for chase planes, reducing cost, complexity, and scheduling delays for BVLOS test campaigns.
NAAMCE is more than a testing facility. It serves as a front door to advanced air mobility in Ohio, connecting teams to the partners, resources, and infrastructure involved in moving programs forward.
